Poverty doesn't have to be permanent. The Salvation Army helps those in need to overcome poverty through a variety of programs.

Meal Assistance
Many families and individuals facing poverty often must make the painful choice heating and eating - that is, they must decide whether they'll pay their bills or pay for food. Without sufficient funds, many are forced to go without a warm, nutritious meal in order to keep a roof over their head.

Pathway of Hope
As part of our comprehensive and holistic approach to helping families move away from inter-generational poverty and towards stability and success, The Salvation Army of Yakima Valley offers Pathway of Hope.  A 12-month case management program designed to throw the full force of Salvation Army programming and services, as well as those of our partner organizations in support of a family to meet their desired quality of life goals.

What is Pathway Of Hope?

Pathway of Hope provides individualized services to families who find themselves in cycles of poverty, including unemployment, unstable housing, lack of education, and more. If your family is in this cycle – and you want to make a change – The Salvation Army Northwest is here for you.

Pathway of Hope can move a family from crisis to stability by pairing them with a case manager who will connect the family to the services they need. These services include: referrals to homeless shelters, access to food banks in your area, help obtaining affordable housing, job-training, and more.
